Mercy Hospital South Targeted Violence Mass Casualty Hospital Response Workshop
On behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) you are invited to participate in the Targeted Violence Mass Casualty Hospital Response Workshop (TVHRW). The workshop will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South, Auditorium, 10010 Kennerly Road, St. Louis, MO 63128. Sign-in will open at 8:15 AM and the workshop will begin promptly at 9:00AM.
This day-long interactive workshop is designed to improve your hospital system's resilience against a targeted violence mass casualty incident. The workshop seeks to:
- Identify gaps and areas for growth that could significantly improve the response to a complex coordinated terrorist attack (CCTA) or other violence-related mass casualty incident.
- Understand the connectivity and communication between and within hospital systems.
- Increase institutional preparedness and operational response and recovery.
- Strengthen and exercise relationships with response partners, share resources, and improve medical outcomes.
Most of the day will be spent in facilitated peer groups and plenary discussions around the scenario presented. Participants will engage in groups to identify issues and gaps, define success, and begin to develop strategies and next steps to further strengthen their preparedness posture.
Registration will open through November 5, 2024. Please register as early as possible. Your registration will be reviewed and approved by members of the Workshop Planning Committee before you receive an email confirming attendance.
